While our European tour has just recently kicked off, we’re excited to announce we’ll be heading down to Australia and New Zealand in September!  The tour includes three cities in New Zealand and eight in Australia with some special guests joining us along the way. Calexico will release a a new EP to coincide with this summer’s extensive European touring.  It includes a new version of “Maybe on Monday” and the early demo of the same song as well as covers by The Replacements, The Call and Elvis Costello.  Enjoy a stream here and purchase digitally on June 29th or physically at the merch table on tour this summer.  US release to come further down the line.

Calexico is thrilled to announce the band will return to Australia in September!  The first date to be announced is the Brisbane Festival on September 17 and 18th.  More soon.

Excited to announce that Calexico will play Newport Folk Festival’s new festival WAY OVER YONDER at the Santa Monica Pier on October 5th!  Other artists include our friend Neko Case, Brett Dennen, Justin Townes Earle and more.  Discounted pre-sale two day or single day tickets are onsale tomorrow at 10AM with password newport.

Spiritoso, the live orchestral album recorded in Germany with Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien and Deutsches Filmorchester Babelsberg and released originally as part of the deluxe edition of Algiers and as a Record Store Day special edition, will be available digitally  in the US on June 11th.  You can pre-order from iTunes and Amazon now.

Calexico’s summer North American tour starts this week!  We will have the new tour cd ANCIENNE BELGIQUE VOL. 2 available at shows as well as a limited edition screen-printed tour poster by Landland.

Calexico will return to Glastonbury this year to play the Park Stage!

SPIRITOSO will be released on limited edition vinyl for RECORD STORE DAY 2013 on April 20th.  The album includes songs from ALGIERS as well as the Calexico catalog recorded live in Germany in June 2012 with the Radio Symphonic Orchestra Vienna and the Deutsches Filmorchester Babelsberg.  Find your local participating record store here and check out the recording of “Para” in the video below:
