Hey everyone,

We know it’s been quiet on the Calexico news front for some time now, but today we are excited to let you know that we are in the final stages of recording and mixing our new album.  Over the past year, the band spent time in Mexico City writing, and then returned to our beloved Wavelab Studio in Tucson to record with our longtime collaborators, Craig Schumacher and Chris Schultz.  The album will feature some of our favorite and most gifted friends as guest musicians.  More details and music will be forthcoming soon, but until then we will leave you with our other very exciting news: April 2015 will see the first Calexico tour of Europe to support the new album.  All dates and ticket links are highlighted below and shows will be on sale by Friday at noon.  We can’t wait to return to Europe to share the new music with you.

Exciting news! We are half-way through recording music for a new record. John and Joey went to Coyoacán, one of the oldest neighborhoods near Mexico City, with Sergio and spent some time writing before coming back to Tucson to record at Wavelab. You can follow our progress on Instagram here.

We will take a break from recording to tour Europe for three weeks this month playing shows in and around the Mediterranean. We look forward to visiting Austria, Greece, Germany, France, Spain, and Italy. Visit the tour page for all the details and we hope to see you out on the road!

Calexico is thrilled to announce we will play New Year’s Eve at the famed Fillmore in San Francisco to cap off an incredible year of music! Tickets go on sale this Sunday, December 8th, at 10AM. Expect surprises…

Glen Hansard and Kathleen Edwards have been added to the WFUV Holiday Cheer Benefit at The Beacon Theatre.  Calexico will be playing their own songs as well as acting as “house band” for all the other acts on the bill.   More artists to be announced!  Tickets here.

Very excited to announce that we’ll be closing out 2013 at the Holiday Cheer for FUV benefit concert on December 10th at The Beacon Theatre in NYC! In addition to our own set, we’ll join Sam Beam (Iron & Wine himself) to perform songs from our joint EP In The Reins and act as the house band throughout the evening which includes Nick Lowe and more artists to be announced soon.
